Dawn of War 3 VFX - Imperial Knight

Among the DOW3 VFX team, these are a few of the VFX pieces I created for Dawn of War3. I only work on the VFX/Particle work, models/animations are not mine. As a general rule of thumb, mid sized explosions or abilities averaged around 300 particles at their peak.

The chainblade teeth in DOW3 were extremely light, created from a total of 3 particles. I achieved this by modeling a series of teeth, morphed along a spline. Then 5-6 frames rendered out and looped, creating the illusion of teeth in motion

It took a very talented team to get this Imperial Knight to the level of quality you see today. One of the areas I worked on were Solaria's OverHeat visuals. Flames, alarms, glows start appearing as Overheating occurs.
